Habari zenu? I am safely in Arusha, having spent the past day and a half taking planes to Africa. It has been tiring - I only got 4 hours of sleep yesterday but I am doing alright. We have a few moments in town on the computer so I wanted to let everyone know that I am here and doing well. The food is great and the people even greater. Super nice people, super friendly, I can’t wait to learn more for me. I realized today that to really help someone on this trip I will need to try my best to learn as much as I can about the African way of life - to support the Tanzanian solutions to Tanzanian problems. Let’s get to work! Today I will be visiting Ang Serian (sp?) group of women who are working against female genitalia mutilation. It will be very interesting. Tomorrow is the first day that I will be at work, I’ll let you know how it all goes. Africa so far has already been amazing. So many differences, but so much fun. Short on time, more later.
